John Olsson is Doctoral Student in Packaging Logistics at the Department of Design Sciences at the Faculty of Engineering LTH, Lund University. He is part of the ReLog research group at Campus Helsingborg and affiliated with the Centre for Retail Research at Lund University, an interdisciplinary centre of excellence. John holds a Master of Science in Supply Chain Management from Linnaeus University (Växjö, Sweden) and a Bachelor of Science in Business Engineering from THM (Friedberg, Germany).
His research falls under the broad umbrella of Last Mile Logistics, which is commonly viewed as the last stretch of the supply chain from the last distribution center to the recipient’s preferred destination point. So far, he has conducted a systematic literature review that resulted in a framework of last mile logics research. His research focuses on how retailers can achieve net-zero emission last mile distribution, which contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly responsible consumption and production as well as sustainable cities and communities.
Further, John teaches in the course Strategic Logistics as part of the bachelor’s program Logistics Service Management on Campus Helsingborg, which is a cooperation between the Faculty of Engineering (LTH) and the Faculty of Social Sciences.
