How are companies in a supply chain connected? What type of information do they share? What are the barriers and driving forces for information sharing? These are all interesting research questions. However, I find them even more interesting if they are put in a futures perspective. Thus, my main research question is: How will organisations share information in a supply chain by 2020? By using a method called scenario planning I am in the process of identifying trends on this matter. Based on these trends, scenarios will be created with the goal that both academia and practice can use the scenarios as a tool to conduct different kinds of analyses.
